Republicans: Obama's budget a reelection plan

Republicans call Obama’s budget gimmick

House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan says about Obama’s budget, “ The president has ducked responsibility, he has punted again .”

Whoowee….and where’s the Republican plan? All we’ve heard is a bunch of slick platitudes and vague ideas. The House is supposed to come up with a budget, but the conservatives and right-wing extremist tea partiers are all in campaign mode and way too busy spending all their time obstructing the functions of government to come up with a detailed plan of their own that spells out who gets to sacrifice and who gets even richer…..and they won’t until after the November elections, when the poor and middle class will get the bad news.

And unfortunately for Republicans, their rejection of Obama’s plan, will just be seen as another gratuitous….rejection of yet another Obama plan. Republicans say Obama’s plan is a gimmick, but so is the rubber-stamp-like Republican rejection of anything Obama does. Obama’s may be motivated to be reelected, but we all know now from public proclamations from McConnell (“our number one priority is to make sure Obama is a one-term president”) to the GOP presidential nominee front-runner Mitt Romney (e.g. “let’s not forget what this election is about…to get rid of Obama”) that they’re not really interested in what’s best for the country either, but worse, they’re actually playing monkey wrench to anything the president is “trying to do”. Thus, any reaction from the GOP towards Obama just appears to be a gimmick….except for Republican voters, of course, who simply want Republicans in office who refuse to work with Democrats and instead be combative with them.

  1. First, this is an election year. Anything done by the President or Congress will be accepted as a political gimmick. However, I believe the President has a plan to grow the economy and that it is a solid foundation to build upon and that frightens the Republicans in Congress who are concerned with their extremely low polling numbers and for famously being the party of no. The economy is turning around, no thanks to Republicans. This proposal will help the economy even more .. perhaps so much that the Democrats will sweep the election and not only help create a win for the President, the House, and the Senate .. but for the American economy as well.

  2. How would anyone in the Republican party understand a budget? They missed an opportunity to learn and create one during the Bush administration. Instead they paid to fight two wars and through that vehicle gave away the money that could have been used for government to finance their idle rich contributors. I like this guy we have now. He gets the bad guys with expert Special Ops folks and Drones , works to make people consistantly healthy by regular check ups through health care so we can save more money by keeping the majority healthy. Don’t you know that us regular folks can read write and add?????
